Directional Brake Pads Fitment Guide

Vehicle manufacturers have designed brake pads that must be fitted directionally for numerous applications. At NAPA, we offer brake pads that match OE designs and specifications. Failure to fit directional brake pads correctly could result in noise and poor performance.

Directional Brake PadS Fitment

If an arrow is on the pad, it should always face in the direction the disc rotates.

If there is no arrow present, please follow the following instructions.

CHAMFER

If one chamfer is present, it should face in the opposite direction the disc rotates.

If two chamfers are present, the larger chamfer should face in the opposite direction the disc rotates.

 

 

CRESCENT OR HALF-MOON

The crescent or half-moon, which should be visible on the shim on the rear of the pad, should face the opposite direction the disc rotates, as shown in the illustration.
