Jack France Returns for 2023

22 Mar 2023

NAPA Racing UK is proud to announce that the partnership with BriSCA F1 stock car racer, Jack France and the team will continue for 2023.

Heading into their third season together, the #216 driver will be returning with not only one, but two purpose built machines, in the new striking NAPA Racing UK livery, for the 2023 BriSCA F1 campaign.

Both cars were developed for the specific track surface they will race on. The first is built for a shale track surface and the second is designed for a tarmac track.

Shale car

A shale car has a longer wheelbase giving it more traction on slippery surfaces, a more rear-biased weight distribution for better traction, and a softer suspension. It creates a driving technique that is similar to a rally car when oversteering around corners.

Tarmac Car

Its body is shorter and wider, with a weight distribution of 50:50 from front to rear. Unlike cars that power slide around corners, these types of cars have stiffer suspension and are closer to the track, while their spoilers are flat rather than angled.

Championship explained

Stock Car Racing is a spectacular form of motorsport, taking place on ‘short oval’ circuits across the UK, Holland, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Canada and USA. The purpose built, open wheeled BriSCA produces over 600bhp.

There is a roof colour grading system, which shows how successful a driver is performing. The more successful the driver, the further down the grid they start the race. This unique starting format gives novice drivers the chance to lead and potentially win a race, while the ‘highflyers’ must overtake their way through the field.

Jack France

“I’m absolutely delighted to unveil a car for each track surface. It’s something I and the team have been working on for some time. Running a single car brings some compromise, so having a car totally focused for shale and another for tarmac is just what I wanted.

I’m really looking forward to the upcoming BriSCA F1 season. I’m aiming to do as many meetings as possible; I can’t wait to get to grips on the tarmac tracks. We will be travelling to the Netherlands to compete there too!”

With a race calendar running through to mid-November, a full season awaits Stock Car fans with France getting his season underway at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Saturday, 25th March. To stay informed on his progress throughout the season, make sure to follow @NAPARacingUK on social media.
