Gus Burton joins NAPA for the remainder of the PCCGB season

01 Aug 2023

NAPA Racing UK can today confirm (1st August) a switch in driver for the remainder of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2023 season.

Following the departure of Hugo Ellis for personal reasons, NAPA Racing UK are delighted to welcome 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup Rookie Champion and current Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup driver Gus Burton to the NAPA Racing family. Burton will embark on the second half of the PCCGB season with top team Joe Tandy Racing and 24hr Le Man winner, Nick Tandy by his side as rounds 9 & 10 of the championship kicks off at Knockhill on 12/13th August.

20-year-old Burton made his mark in the motorsport world by competing in the 2020 Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship. Despite racing against more experienced drivers, Burton was crowned overall Vice-Champion after finishing the season with 5 wins and 16 podiums out of 17 completed races.

The Essex-based racer then went on to have an incredible year in 2021, making history by claiming the British GT4 title in the penultimate round of the season. After taking both the Drivers and Teams championship in the same year, Burton made the impressive jump to the PCCGB Championship and after 2 pole positions, 3 wins and 5 podiums, he took the Rookie Cup.

With his history of success, one thing’s for sure: Gus Burton is one to watch.

GUS BURTON – NAPA RACING UK, NO.57:

“I’m thrilled to be back in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and it’s a privilege to come back with the successful, family run team, JTR. I can’t wait to get on track in the NAPA car and aim for great results for the team. See you at Knockhill!”
