Jack France takes part in World Cup in Netherlands & UK Shootout

19 Aug 2024

NAPA Racing UK’s Jack France TOOK his distinctive BriSCA F1 machine to the Netherlands for a second time this year TO TAKE part in Raceway Venray’s biggest ever World Cup event on 16th to 18th August, Securing a position in the event due to high standing in the UK points championships.

“We’ve loved competing overseas this year, this was our 3rd international event. It’s great to mix with fans far and wide and the NAPA brand is recognised everywhere we go! With the UK based World Final no longer a certainty, we’re chasing all the other competitions we can,” commented Jack ahead of Venray. Alas, a puncture in his Semi Final on the 3rd of August has all but ruled him out of the World Final being held in Skegness, but there is one more attempt to qualify with two places on the grid up for grabs on the Consolation Semi Final, on the day of the World Final.

Raceway Venray is a tarmac track located in the east of the country and features a NASCAR style banked ½ mile oval as well as a ¼ mile oval used by BriSCA F1 and F2 stock cars along with other formulas such as Saloon Stock Cars and Ministox. The World Cup event features all of those formulas and will be a great event.

Domestically, the NAPA Racing BriSCA F1 team are well placed for this years National Points Championship Shootout. Jack finished an impressive 8th in the points, making it into the top 15 plus one wildcard who will compete in the 12 round Shootout starting in September. The Shootout format has some exciting changes for 2024, with the 16 drives split into 4 groups of 4. Each group has 4 rounds with the top 2 from each group moving forward to stage 2. The 8 drivers who make it to Stage 2 will then compete another 4 rounds, with the top 3 moving forward to stage 3. The final 6 in Stage 3 then compete in the final 4 rounds to decide the National Points Champion.

Next stop

Jack and the team will be heading to Jack’s home track of Odsal Stadium in Bradford this bank holiday weekend. It promises to be an exiting competition!
